The Moneytizer: an alternative to Google Adsense?

The Moneytizer is an advertising platform of French origin, founded in 2014 and with a community with just over 65,000 participating publishers, I am currently using this platform to monetize an online community of which I spoke in the last publication where I talk about my experience in the search for a reliable alternative to Google Adsense. Next I will tell you how I got to this platform, how it works and my experience during the two months I have been working with them.

Starting with The Moneytizer

I got to know The Moneytizer thanks to the recommendation of a couple of users on ForoBeta after opening a thread about possible alternatives to Adsense. I searched on Youtube for information created by people who are editors on the platform, as well as on blogs and other sites related to online marketing and monetization. Most comments were very positive, and the few negatives were from people who were not accepted into the platform. Continuing with the topic and the good reviews I was receiving about The Moneytizer, where they referred to it as the best Adsense alternative and, in some cases, the performance was even better. A key factor for me was that it was possible to work with Latin American traffic, and I wouldn’t have problems with the content of the site I was monetizing, as it complied with the platform’s requirements (see acceptance criteria). Payments were made through Paypal, and unlike Adsense, which pays in dollars, this platform uses euros.

After reading the FAQ of the platform, which explains its operation very well, I proceeded to sign up. I used the referral link from one of the sites I consulted to favor the article’s author, in case I used a referral link.

Now, my experience after almost a month since opening this thread. Following the comments left by @Zurito and @milapercia, I decided to search the web about themoneytizer. It was obvious that most videos and blogs talking about it had their referral link, but I wanted to test how true it was about being one of the best alternatives to Adsense and that, in some cases, the performance was better. Well, I signed up and had problems with the consent banner, which is a requirement from them. I never got the option to add it, and they rejected me a couple of hours later. So, I contacted support, and a very friendly girl replied. Within 10 minutes, it was approved, and I could put the consent banner. That was on September 14th. A few hours later, ads about plants and Unicef started to appear on my site. By September 15th, I already had 5.03 euros in my account. Honestly, I don’t remember if I clicked on one of the reference ads or if they gave those five euros at the start. A box appeared saying that it was connecting the advertising partners, and it would grow as I integrated the formats on my website, thus increasing my earnings. It seemed normal to me. I won’t talk about daily earnings, but a bit about CPM. Well, I started with a CPM of 0.03, and it increased day by day, stabilizing between 0.09 and 0.1, which seemed good. I wasn’t getting the same as Adsense, but it wasn’t bad for an alternative. I was also waiting for all the “partners” to connect. At the end of September, the bar was at 40%. On September 30th, something happened that left me speechless. The CPM rose to 0.66. I had never received such a high gain in a day. I thought it might be an error. Now, with 100% of the partners, my CPM ranges between 0.03 and 0.04, with the same number of views as the first two weeks. However, I’m not counting those two extraordinary days for this.

Now, let me tell you about those two “extraordinary” days. I contacted the support girl during the week when the ads and CPM dropped. She told me that those two days were due to a big campaign from one of the partners and that it should normalize later. I hoped it would stay between 0.09 and 0.1, but nothing happened. She mentioned that partners are careful in the first days of the month, but it stayed between 0.03 and 0.04 with pure Taboola advertising. About the ad quality, initially, it matched the area, with quality ads very similar to those of Adsense, targeting the audience that generates the most traffic. But now, as I said, only Taboola native ads, and honestly, they are not of the best quality.

For now, I’ll wait to close October to see what happens. If not, I’ll have to migrate. Honestly, for now, it’s bittersweet. As I said, my only experience was with Adsense, and I’m just getting to know this world. I had more things to tell about what the advisor told me, but it’s unnecessary and would go into details. I wanted to be as brief as possible and very general.
